The hearing for Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, who is seeking relief or removal of his prison sentence, has been postponed until tomorrow.

The hearing will resume tomorrow at 12:30, and it is learned that the reason for the postponement was the presentation of new evidence by prosecutors.

For this reason, Veliaj's defense has requested time to familiarize themselves with them.

The mayor of Tirana has consistently described his arrest as illegal and has accused the prosecutor in the case of a personal conflict.

Defense lawyers have requested the removal of the prison sentence and the easing of the measure, arguing that he poses no risk of escape or destruction of evidence.
