Hashim Thaçi leaves for The Hague! Supporters cheer with chants of 'KLA KLA'

After a two-day visit to Kosovo, former President Hashim Thaç has left for The Hague, where he continues his detention. He is being sent under the close supervision of the Special Unit and the Special Protection Unit.

The former president left the EULEX premises to the applause and cheers of his supporters who had gathered there and were chanting "KLA, KLA". 

Earlier, he met with his wife and brothers.

This was the first time Thaçi had stayed in Kosovo for so long since he has been in detention since 2020. The day before, he had the opportunity to visit the grave of his father, Haxhi Thaçi. He was escorted to his final resting place on March 18, but the former president did not receive permission to say his final goodbyes.
