The testimony of the 22-year-old Greek woman who was the cause of the tragic accident in which the Albanian taxi driver, Gentian Kamberi , lost his life has been revealed .

22-year-old Ekaterina Caci , who has been placed under house arrest with electronic monitoring after apologizing, claimed she had only drunk three glasses of wine the night of the accident, while apologizing to the 47-year-old's family, saying she was " deeply devastated ."

"I drank three glasses of wine, I only remember the scene of the crash," the 22-year-old said of the accident in Thebes, Athens.

The 22-year-old, who according to blood tests had consumed a large amount of alcohol, denied any such thing during her defense.

"I was in a bar in Keratsini with my friends. I was hungry and we said let's eat in St. Petersburg ," she said.

As protothema.gr writes, the 22-year-old had consumed almost three times the legal limit of alcohol, as shown by blood test results.

The blood test result showed a percentage of 1.29 alcohol/lt, where the limit was 0.50 g/lt.

During the apology, the young woman claimed that "I have no idea how the collision happened. All I remember is boom. I was going up Thebes in the left lane towards Ilion. Someone came from the right, another car from the right from an alley. I saw its lights and I got scared. I slowed down. In front of me was another car, this one from the right. I made a forward maneuver and immediately turned right again. Then the collision happened."

"Regarding the crash scene, I have no idea if the traffic light changed in the seconds that followed," added the ajp.

She said that after leaving the bar where she was with her friends, she was in good condition.

"When I left the bar where I was with my friends, I was fine, I felt good, but I hadn't eaten. I apologize and I want to express my condolences to the family of the person who was lost. I am deeply devastated," said the 22-year-old.

Gentian Kamberi, from Tirana, had made his life in Greece and was the father of a 12-year-old daughter.

The victim worked together with his wife as taxi drivers day and night so that their little girl would not lack for anything.

"He was an honest man who worked and built his life in Greece ," one of his close friends tells protothema.gr.

"I have no words for what happened to Jan and his family. It's tragic, his child will grow up without a father from a young age and his wife, who is a very worthy woman, has to carry the burden of the family.  During the day, his wife worked as a taxi driver, while he worked at night to make a living. I can't believe he left so unjustly, really...",  he added.
