Prime Minister Edi Rama, speaking about the concrete benefits of organizing an event of this magnitude, such as the Kanye West concert, stated that its value is not measured only by the cost, but by the economic and promotional impact it brings. He further emphasized that organizing a concert of this magnitude sends an important message for Albania in the international arena.

"The most important question is not simply how much it cost, but how much value it creates? An investment continues to produce value even after it is made. A great concert not only leaves a beautiful mark in the memory of those who enjoyed it, but also leaves money in the coffers of hotels, full restaurants, cafes, shops and enterprises that deal with transportation, security and logistics.

"It creates profits for business, job opportunities and income for the state through taxes on that added value, while millions of eyes are turned to Albania. It shows the world that this is a country that, even when there are protests, has hospitality and security; a place where major events can be organized with professionalism, a free and democratic country, where you should not be afraid to come for vacation, to return again and even to think about investing," Rama declared.

Rama also dwells on the impact that, according to him, the cancellation of the concert would have had on foreigners' perception of Albania, especially at a time when the country is hosting thousands of tourists.

"Imagine how this message must have gone to foreigners who had booked to come in the coming weeks and months and, in the meantime, were considering canceling their reservations due to the protest. Imagine what a negative impact the cancellation of the biggest concert Albania has ever organized would have, not only for tourists, but also for foreign investors. Foreign investments go where there is trust, energy, security, reputation and a society that believes in its future," he said.

Rama emphasized that Albania must change the way it thinks about investments related to the promotion and development of the country.

"Today's Albania should not only ask: 'How much does it cost?'. Today's Albania, which aims for the Mediterranean Champions League of tourism, should ask: 'How much value is created from this investment?'. Whoever is poor in aspiration is condemned to remain far behind the opportunities he has," said Rama.

The Prime Minister also addressed the debate on the cost of organizing the concert, responding to criticism of the amount of 4 million euros.

"Two words about the 4 million euros: yes, those 4 million euros were an investment, made at the last minute to save much larger investments for Albania, the economy of Tirana and thousands of people from over 80 countries around the world who had bought tickets to come here. It was an investment to not open a new wound of distrust towards an Albania where everyone has their eyes," Rama said.

He added that, according to him, this money would not have been used from the state budget if a climate of tension and uncertainty had not been created.

"The truth of the 4 million is even more complete than that. That money would not have come out of the state coffers if it had not been for the threats, blackmail and violent hysteria on social networks," Rama declared.
