RENEA forces have arrived in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
They have created a perimeter around this institution, while police have advanced to repel the protesters.
The arrival of RENEA forces is rare, as they only intervene in high-risk actions.
When does RENEA intervene?
- Apprehension of high-risk persons: For the arrest of individuals wanted for serious crimes (murder, participation in structured criminal groups, or when there are suspicions that they are armed).
- Hostage situation: When armed individuals take hostages and negotiation or specialized tactical intervention is required.
- Hitting armed groups or serious trafficking: During large-scale operations against organized crime or arms and narcotics trafficking, where the support of ordinary police is not sufficient.
- Tactical and high-risk support: When other State Police structures (such as the Rapid Intervention Forces - FNSH) or local directorates request assistance due to the fortification of suspects or the risk of armed confrontation.
