A protester at Trauma

The high influx of patients following the protests in the capital has highlighted the lack of capacity at the University Trauma Hospital, one of the most important institutions for treating serious cases in the country.

According to Vox News sources, the reconstruction of operating rooms has limited the possibilities for planned interventions, especially orthopedic ones. While the emergency room must cope with cases that require immediate intervention, other patients risk facing long waits and postponements of operations.

This situation raises questions about how services were organized during the reconstruction and whether the remaining capacities are sufficient to meet the needs of patients.

The problem is not only related to the influx created by the protests. This situation is highlighting a deeper problem of hospital capacity, which requires concrete responses from the institution's management and the Ministry of Health.

Is the director of the Trauma Hospital, Edlira Bode, responsible for the way this situation has been managed? And who guarantees that patients waiting for an operation are not left in the shadows whenever the emergency department faces high flows?

The protests may be the cause of the immediate influx, but the lack of capacity and the waiting list for patients require an explanation that goes beyond them.
