"Citizen protests are a normal element of democracy, while dialogue remains the main challenge of Albanian politics."

This was stated by the Ambassador of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Michel Tarran, who appreciated the fact that protests in the country are mainly taking place peacefully and with respect for citizens' right to express themselves.

"Protests are a normal aspect of democratic life and I am glad that Albania has now become a country where such protests can be organized in a very civic way, in a very peaceful way."

"There have been some incidents, but overall, if you look back over a month, there have been no significant incidents," said the Ambassador of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Michel Tarran.

Commenting on the political climate in the country, the ambassador also focused on political polarization, emphasizing that pluralism is a value of democracy, but underlined that the political debate lacks constructive dialogue and more respectful communication between the parties.

"The fact that there are poles, two or three or more poles in the political field is something normal. It is exactly the characteristic of democratic countries."

"Unfortunately, you have to say that the political dialogue in Albania is not at the right level," said Ambassador Tarran.

These statements were made by the Ambassador of the OSCE Presence in Albania, Michel Tarran, during his visit to RTSH Korça, where he held meetings with the leaders and staff of this media institution.
