Rhodes is living the "fiery nightmare" since noon. Evacuation operations are progressing in areas such as Lardo and Kiotari, where so far over 2,000 people have left their homes and hotels.
Private ships have also come to the aid of these operations, which have joined the Greek coast guard to help pick up people from the beaches in the east of the island.
The latest information also says that the fire has entered the village of Laerme and is burning the church in the cemetery.
There are currently three active foci in Rhodes. One in the northeast of the artificial dam of Lake Lagora which has created a small active hearth.
The next focus is 500 meters from Laerma in Lardo, a new front joining the old one and the most active is in Asklepio of Rhodes.
