The implementation of Prime Minister Edi Rama's order for the resignation of heads of state institutions began in the early hours of this morning. One of the first to submit her resignation is the Director General of Prisons, Sadleva Bodo, who was appointed to this position only nine days ago.
Bodo appeared at the Ministry of Justice this Friday morning, where he submitted his resignation, in compliance with the Prime Minister's request conveyed through Minister Toni Gogu.
Her case is among the most special of this wave of departures, as Bodo was appointed on October 14, by decision of the Council of Ministers, replacing Adriatik Kupin, who had resigned after about seven months in office.
Just nine days later, his successor was asked to follow the same path, without yet having the necessary time to prove the results of her work at the head of the prison system.
Bodo's resignation comes a day after the meeting held at around 3:00 PM at the Ministry of Justice, where Toni Gogu communicated to the heads of subordinate institutions the request for his removal from office.
As Vox News previously reported, Rama's order includes the heads of subordinate institutions in all ministries, from Taxes and Customs to state agencies and public companies in strategic sectors.
According to information provided by Vox News, the resignation process will take place starting at 08:00 this Friday and should be completed by Monday, October 26.
Meanwhile, it still remains unclear what will happen to the leaders who submit their resignations, whether some of them will be reconfirmed in office or replaced with new names.
