While the scenarios for Ukraine are becoming more and more gloomy, the Polish Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, declares that a war between Russia and NATO would lead to the defeat of the Kremlin.
Even according to Sikorski, this would be the inevitable result.
"It is not the West, i.e. WE, that should be afraid, but the opposite. It is worth remembering this and not to increase the feeling of threat among the Russians, since NATO is a defensive pact, but to show that an attack by the Russians on one of its members would end in inevitable defeat", said Sikroski. during a speech in the lower house of the Polish parliament.
According to him, the Western military alliance has 3 times more military personnel and air resources, and 4 times more warships than Russia.
According to him, the only hope of the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, is the lack of determination of the West, something for which Poland and the Baltic countries have served as a catalyst.
Kremlin: Nuclear weapons in Poland, legitimate target
Any NATO nuclear weapon stationed in Poland would be considered a legitimate target for Moscow in the event of a clash with the alliance.
Russia made sure to make this clear through repeated statements from both Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
The reaction came after Polish President Andrej Duda expressed willingness to welcome nuclear weapons from other member states, amid growing threats from Moscow.
"It seems that Warsaw is trying at all costs to attract even more attention from Russia's military planners. As you can imagine, it is not difficult to understand that in the case of the appearance of any American nuclear weapon on Polish territory, the objects in question would immediately enter the list of legitimate targets to be destroyed, in the case of a direct confrontation with NATO", said Zakarova.
