Prime Minister Edi Rama declared today that anyone has the right to demand his resignation and protest against the government, but stressed that his resignation cannot be imposed through violence.
"Dear friends, this package does not contain any Albanian inventions. There is no point or article that conflicts with the freedom and rights of the citizens of Albania. In its spirit, there is a very simple truth: the freedom of each person ends where the freedom of others begins and the rights of each person stop where the rights of others are violated. Whoever does not want the government or wants my departure, not today but yesterday, is within his freedom and right to think, propagate or turn this desire into a protest. Here it is my duty and the government's duty to guarantee that the protest of anyone who wants a different government takes place without any pressure. I am ready to listen to anyone who will present their opposition to me face to face and with the demands that they think the government should take into account. Whoever demands my resignation is mistaken in thinking that it can be imposed by force or in any other form. Beyond this border, I have a duty to protect the country and the people from any attempt to turn Albania backwards while the state "It is our duty to show the place to anyone who raises a hand against public and private property that threatens order and security," said Rama.
