The resorts of oligarchs and strategic investors on the Ionian coast, from Palasa to Himara, continue to gobble up public money, despite the loud trumpeting that "they are private investments". On the one hand, strategic investors have benefited from hundreds of thousands of square meters of free land on the seashore, their taxes have been waived for 10 years, while our state, which barely pays its pensioners and has the lowest salaries in the European region, is also financing major public works.

After the construction of waterworks that cost over 25 million euros, but which continue to be built today, the government has also quickly ordered the construction of sewage plants, to remove the excrement of these oligarchs or their kind, which again falls on the poor Albanians. A bill of 14.4 million euros is about to be signed by the government to build a plant in the Dhërmi area, where oligarch resorts and strategic investors have built, who always find the solution in the government.

If, on the other hand, entire cities "swim" in sewage, including Durrës and Tirana, which on these hot summer days stink and are a source of epidemics, our government does not take measures to remove the sewage, but decides to invest in the land that it once forgave them.

A host of businessmen have built resorts in the Dhërmi area, from Artan Gaçi, Ilir Trebicka, to actor Gaz Paja, who also had a project, to the Gjikuria firm and the husband of moderator Alketa Vejsiu, businessman Ardian Nelo, who received permits.

Investments are estimated at hundreds of millions of euros, while to the naked eye it seems that the entire area has become a huge quarry, with countless construction sites that have destroyed everything.

According to documents available to Vox News, the Vlore Regional Water and Sewerage Company has opened a tender worth 1,129,210,978 lek, or about 14.4 million euros. The facility is KUZ Dhërmi, while so far it has not been made public what will be built in that area or which resorts it will affect.

Vox News has continuously reported on the numerous projects of the Albanian government to invest in coastal areas, which are washed by the water of the Ionian Sea. In fact, the irony of fate in one of these procedures was that a firm announced several times as a strategic investor, won the tender for the construction of the water supply for strategic investments on the southern coast of Albania. Initially, “Gjikuria” received the status of investor and later devoured millions of euros from the tenders.

Everyone is now "eyed" by the lucrative tender for the sewage plant, whether or not it will be won by an investor in the area or the competition will be opened and other companies will participate. The fact is that, once again, a plant worth tens of millions of euros is being built with Albanian taxes. And, most likely, this project will not be the last, as all the attention of those in power has turned to that area, perhaps for access and facilities in second, third homes or in hotels that they own or indirectly.
