One of the biggest deals in Albania has been the rental of floating TPPs in Vlora, which were placed in the Triport area, while to date they have produced little or no energy, while the cost increases day by day.

The Albanian state pays hundreds of thousands of euros to keep them working in a single day, not counting fuel, insurance, or worker costs, while the Karakatinas have already started having their first problems.

At a time when there should have been an investigation or verification into this affair, the leasing institution itself, the Albanian Power Corporation, continues to deepen the hole in the state budget, by making successive tenders, at extremely high costs.

In these hot summer days and away from the attention of public opinion, KESH has opened the next procedure, not to produce energy, but to maintain the two rusty ships.

Documents researched by Vox News show that KESH, now headed by Viola Haxhiademi, a former senior executive at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, has opened a lucrative tender worth a full 20 million euros.

The documents show a huge inflated value of this entire amount, while the object of the procurement procedure is "operation and maintenance of the Thermal generating asset, Vlora".

The limit fund is a full 1,892,000,000 lekë, while if we convert it into euros, the amount goes to a full 20,198,569 euros. KESH writes that this money is only for maintenance and an open procedure, above the high monetary limit.

According to the contract, the two ships are rented, with KESH paying hundreds of thousands of euros each month.

Meanwhile, not far from where those rusty shacks are housed, another TEC stands preserved, the cost of which has reached a full 130 million euros. Our state pays millions of euros for the conservation of the TEC on land and hundreds of millions more euros for the Floating TECs.
