Dhurata Frashëri, the director of Government Services, has opened the "bag" a few days before European Union leaders arrive in Albania for the May 16 Summit in Tirana.
VoxNews has secured several tender procedures conducted by the Directorate of Government Services, where the directorate has made tenders for flowers, food, luxury cars, or even gifts for EU leaders.
A few days ago, the same director made a formal tender worth 2.4 million euros to rent a container and place it in "Skënderbej" Square in Tirana.
The works were inspected a few days ago by Prime Minister Edi Rama, while school children from all over Albania were also "used" for those works, who made paintings for the EU and gave them to the private firm.
Meanwhile, in recent days, the same director has made dozens of procedures for the luxury of EU leaders. The first procedure was worth 15 thousand euros, for "furniture". Two other tenders worth 83,500 euros for rental vehicles, or even 44 thousand euros for a chancellery.
The list continues with the tender of 250 euros for a menu printed on both sides, or 5500 euros to be used for rented iron fences. There will also be lighting services worth 12,500 euros, or 30 thousand euros for an LED screen.
20 thousand euros will be used for banners, or 46 thousand euros will be used for phone service. According to the documents, there will also be other tenders for lighting.
But the icing on the cake is the 51 thousand euro tender for "gifts". It is not known what gifts are in question, but if around 30 leaders will come, the value of the gifts for each one will be over 1,500 euros.
26 thousand euros will be used for a "simultaneous translation system", while 2 thousand euros will be for podiums. 80 thousand euros will be used for banners, or another 45 thousand for generator rentals. 1,600 euros will be used for flower arrangements.
According to documents researched by VoxNews, 17 thousand euros are for television directing services or 12 thousand euros for specialized cleaning. There will also be a single-use carpet worth about 9 thousand euros, or 3 thousand 500 euros for ceremonial markers.
There will also be a tender for personalized pins worth 3,660 euros or a tender for electronic equipment rental worth 4,200 euros. 16 thousand euros will also be used for iron fences. Another LED screen worth about 2 thousand euros will also be purchased.
A few weeks ago, VoxNews reported that a whopping sum of 235 million lek, or about 2.4 million euros, will be spent on organizing an event on May 16 in Tirana, a day on which several European Union leaders will arrive.
"The Directorate of Government Services has formally conducted a tendering procedure, but with the option of negotiating with the 'preferred' firm. The documents state that the winner was the company 'REDCLOUD', with the current owner Mr. Klodian Makashi, while on the day it was announced the winner of this procedure, the firm also filed a sale-purchase contract with the Central Bank, Mr. Makashi transferring the firm's shares to himself!" the editorial office denounced.
It is learned that the European Political Community Summit will be held on these dates, which will bring together all the leaders of the continent. Tirana, Vora and Kamza will be blocked for 2 days, while state institutions will also be on holiday.
