Erion Veliaj is preparing another wave of changes in the Municipality of Tirana. Following the departure of Anuela Ristani and the resignation of the Secretary General, the mayor has requested the resignation of several of the institution's highest officials, and in case of refusal, he is expected to sign their dismissal himself.

Vox News sources indicate that another strong "shake-up" is expected in the Municipality of Tirana this week.

At the top of the list are the three deputy mayors Ilir Mengra, Blendi Sulaj and Gentian Keri, whom Erion Veliaj has asked to submit their resignations. The only one who will continue to hold the position of deputy mayor of the Municipality will be Vasilika Vjero.

So far, it does not appear that any of them have filed a formal act of departure.

But sources indicate that Veliaj has no intention of resigning. If the three deputy mayors refuse to resign, the mayor is expected to sign their dismissal from office.

But the changes don't stop at the vice presidents.

Sources tell Vox News that among the other officials who are expected to be asked to leave, or dismissed if they do not accept to resign, are Erion Çaka, Daniel Demiri and Berta Piro.

All three are considered close officials in the Municipality of Tirana during the new period of the institution's management and are names politically connected to former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

The positions they hold are among the most important in the capital's administration.

Erion Çaka holds the position of General Director of the Legal, Assets and Licensing Department, a key structure for legal decision-making, properties and assets of the Municipality.

Daniel Demiri is the Cabinet Director at the Municipality of Tirana, part of the structure that stands directly next to the political leadership of the institution.

While Berta Piro holds the position of General Director of Financial Management, one of the most important positions for the financial and budgetary administration of the Municipality.

If these three officials also leave, the changes can no longer be considered simply an administrative rotation. They simultaneously affect the political direction, the cabinet, the finances, and the legal structure of the institution.
