New details: Son deleted camera footage after killing father

New details have emerged from the macabre murder of Urim Fiku, which occurred this morning in Bulqiza. Journalist Elton Qyno has learned that police have seized a DVR device from the victim's home, which was connected to 3 cameras installed in the house where the serious crime occurred.

But when the device was taken for examination, no footage was found on it. Gazmir Fiku, 33, the son of the victim Urim Fiku, who is suspected of being the perpetrator of the crime, is said to have deleted the footage from his phone.

Given this situation, the Dibra police have requested computer expertise of the DVR device, in the hope of recovering the footage.

The serious incident is suspected to be related to the causes of jealousy between the son and his wife over a suspected romantic relationship of Urim Fiku.

His 57-year-old wife, Sadete Fiku, was also arrested. Gazmir Fiku worked as a supervisor at OSHEE for over a decade in this institution.

According to the Dibra police, he, along with his mother, was involved in the murder of his father and then covering up the incident by reporting it as a death that had resulted from an attack and then a bite by a bear.

"Gazmir Fiku, the son of the late Urim Fiku, and Sadete Fiku, the victim's wife, were detained after it is suspected that, in collaboration with each other, they killed the 61-year-old with firearms and sharp cutting tools," local police said in a statement today.
