New details emerge about the luxurious castle in France that Albanian and French authorities suspect is linked to businessman Ermal Beqiraj, arrested a few days ago in France and awaiting extradition procedures to Albania.

According to French media reports, the property, valued at around 2.6 million euros, is one of the assets that is the focus of the seizure investigation.

It is about Château d'Auteuil, a historic castle located in Berneuil-en-Bray, in the Oise department, about 70 kilometers north of Paris, writes Vox News.

The building is registered as a historical monument in France and is known for its classical architecture, the moats that surround it, and the extensive surrounding park.

What is striking is that the castle does not appear simply as a private property. Château d'Auteuil is also listed on the tourist platform Tripadvisor, where it is appreciated by visitors as a luxury destination for accommodation and events.

In published comments, visitors appreciate the tranquility, the restoration of the building, and the historical surroundings.

According to data published by the structure itself, the castle has an area of ??about 1,200 square meters and includes about 50 rooms, while only five luxury suites are offered to tourists. The rest of the building is used as a residence and for organizing private events.

Its history stretches back several centuries. The building was rebuilt in the mid-19th century on the foundations of an older castle and has been restored since 2003, becoming a popular tourist destination, without losing its status as a historical monument.

The name of this property became public after French media reported that Albanian authorities have identified a luxury residence in France that is suspected of being linked to Ermal Beqiraj, while in parallel they have initiated procedures for the seizure of assets suspected of having criminal origins.

According to SPAK, in addition to this property, bank accounts, apartments, vehicles and a tourist plane are also under investigation.

Beqiraj is currently in custody in France, after being arrested after flying a private jet over the Penly nuclear power plant, while Albanian authorities have requested his extradition as part of investigations into the AKSHI tender dossier.
