BKH searches the apartment of the well-known pharmaceutical businessman, suspicions of corruption with Ogerta Manastirliu's family member!

A businessman who controls one of the most well-known pharmaceutical warehouses in Albania has been placed under investigation by the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime.

VOX News sources close to SPAK inform that BKH agents conducted a search of the businessman's apartment about three weeks ago. The operation was conducted discreetly and has not been made public by law enforcement institutions until now.

During the search, agents are suspected of seizing various documents, materials and evidence, which are being analyzed as part of an investigation.

According to sources informing VOX News, part of the documentation may shed light on the businessman's relationships with people connected to the former Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastirliu.

SPAK's investigation is learned to have also extended to a close relative of the former minister, who is suspected of having conducted financial activity and transactions with the businessman who owns the pharmaceutical warehouse.

"Investigators are verifying whether these financial relationships were legal or whether they were carried out in exchange for possible favors for the pharmaceutical company from state institutions," SPAK sources added to VOX News.

The investigators' suspicions relate to several areas, starting from the inclusion or addition of drugs marketed by this warehouse to the list of reimbursable drugs and to the tender procedures developed by the Ministry of Health.

The investigation is also suspected of placing several tenders conducted with limited procedures or without full public transparency, for which it is being verified whether the pharmaceutical company has benefited from preferential treatment.

As of the time of publication of this article, SPAK has not made an official announcement regarding the inspection, the persons under investigation, or the criminal offenses that may have been registered.
