Briseida Çakërri and Sara Mila are the two new deputies of the Socialist Party in the Albanian Parliament, one representing the Vlora district and the other representing Elbasan.

Both Socialist MPs interviewed separately by journalist Roland Qafoku on DritareTv, Çakërri and Mila, spoke about the year of unrest in 1997. 

"I was only six years old when I first participated in protests in 1997. Since then, politics has been part of my life. I was an activist in Fresh, then the president of the neighborhood organization and then for the region," Briseida recalled during the interview about her early political activity, which began in childhood.

She stated that she was 6 years old at the time, but to be precise, at that time she was still 4 years old, considering the legislator's birthday in May 1992.

While she expressed that what remains in her memory from the protest is the fact that Berisha is still in the Assembly today as her fellow MP.

Meanwhile, her colleague Sara Mila, even though she was 2 years old, had experienced the hell of 1997 and could not see Berisha as normal.

We recall that in the May 11 elections, Briseida Çakërri ranked 11th out of 16 SP candidates in the Vlora district, receiving 2,610 votes in Albania and 38 in the diaspora, a total of about 3,000 votes . 

She then took the mandate of MP after the resignation of Brunilda Mersini (Mayor of Vlora Municipality) and was sworn in to the Assembly.

Meanwhile, MP Sara Mila became part of politics through the " Deputy We Want " platform and ran in the Elbasan district.

In the 2025 parliamentary elections, she was elected as a deputy and was among the most voted candidates in the Elbasan district, receiving 20,225 preferential votes on the open lists of the Socialist Party. 

It is not yet known whether these lectures were received by the new majority MPs at the month-long summer school, where the lecturers were old-timers in the Socialist Party.
