Details emerge from the meeting of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, held this Monday under the leadership of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Prime Minister Edi Rama has asked Socialist MPs to focus on social policies and the housing package in their communication with citizens, while announcing measures to compensate businesses damaged during the protests.
After the meeting of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, sources indicate that Rama stated that vandalism against the city will not be allowed.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government has the housing package at its disposal and will continue implementing social policies, which should be at the center of MPs' communication with citizens.
Another issue discussed was compensation for damaged businesses. Rama has requested that the 2027 draft budget, which is expected to be passed by the government this week, include funds for their compensation.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister also focused on the law on gatherings, adopted in 2001. Given that the proposed intervention only provides for an amendment to this law, the possibility of pursuing the initiative through an expedited procedure will be considered.
The discussions come after Rama's announcement of a package of legal measures against violence and property damage during protests, as well as financial support for affected businesses.
