FIFA has made the decision to punish the Albanian footballer Granit Xhaka. Xhaka will not be punished as he has not broken any FIFA rules on politics on the football field. The Albanian star who plays for Arsenal has led the Swiss national team in the knockout phase of the Qatar 2022 World Cup as he continues to show that he is a key player for club and country.

Their game against Serbia was a heated encounter considering the rivalry between the two nations. After the match, the midfielder was wearing a Swiss shirt with the name Jashari written on it, referring to Adem Jashari, who founded the Kosovo Liberation Army.

However, after the match, he claimed it was about his teammate Ardon Jashari. After qualifying for the World Cup knockout stage with two wins from three, Group G runners-up Switzerland now face last-16 opponents Portugal at the Lusail Stadium on Tuesday.

Narrowly avoiding a single red card during a storming clash with Serbia in their final group game, Murat Yakin's side have no suspensions to deal with, but Manuel Akanji, Fabian Schar and Granit Xhaka are on among seven players one booking away from losing a match.
