A forced response for Edmond Spaho.
In the Highlands where I come from, there is a saying: “A day will come when people will have to wait in line to be ashamed.”
And, unfortunately, Mondi, it seems you've joined that queue.
After everything the Democrats and the Democratic Party gave you, today we see you begging Edi Rama not to leave. A sad political end for someone who was once part of the opposition.
Perhaps waiting for some kind of bone, even a media royalty, like many former politicians who today drool in television studios just to stay in the news.
In 2025, I ran for deputy in Durrës. I went door to door, in Shkozet, in Troplinet, in Port, Currila, Spitallë and in every village where a battle was required. I faced patronageists, criminal gangs and the pressure of a regime that knows no rules. I did not retreat.
You were a political leader in Durrës in 2015 and everyone knows the result that leadership left behind.
I don't whine or complain. I am a member of the National Council for the third time and have fought political and public battles for the Democratic Party. Ask the Democratic electorate what they think of me.
When I led the student protest in 2018, I chose to stand with the students.
I did not sell their cause for any interest and I was not seduced by power. That is why people know me as a voice that does not abandon causes.
I have no grudge, Mondi. The grudge seems to be yours. The Democratic Party gave you everything, while I, unlike you, have only given to the Democratic Party.
I did not enter politics to lick bones or for a salary. I come from a highland tribe where honor is above all else. Nobility is in blood, in character, and in attitude.
Today I continue to face a regime that harms Albania. You, on the contrary, ask it not to leave.
This is the difference between us.
