Violent protests in Tirana demand blood, says Prime Minister Edi Rama, adding that he is trying not to fall into this trap.
Rama: I have tried not to get involved and to patiently follow and coordinate an effort not to fall into the trap of violence that requires blood. I know the history of this boulevard, I know it well, I still have fresh in my memory what happened on January 21st when there were several sporadic fires here and there in this perimeter, not a single boiler, but where nothing was touched, no institution, where no Molotov cocktails were thrown, where no one from the security forces was harmed or burned, and when 4 protesters were killed with bullets and dozens of others were injured, who, unlike today, could not even go to the hospital because they were again cut off by wood and were treated at home. Beyond the fact that those who throw stones, iron bars and screws to gouge out the eyes of the police are criminals, I bear in mind that they are blind children of Albania and their lives are worth more than anything else at the end of the day. Self-restraint is the A and Z of this story .
