The Vice President of the European Parliament reacts to the clashes in Tirana: Police violence against protesters unacceptable

The Vice President of the European Parliament reacts to the clashes in Tirana:

"Police violence against protesters is unacceptable." 

This is what the Vice President of the European Parliament and MEP Nicolae Stefanuta wrote on social media.

He shared footage of a video where several police officers hit a protester lying on the ground.

Stefanuta was in Tirana a few days ago where she participated in the citizens' protest in front of the prime minister's office.  

"We need to listen to what people say and understand what they feel. We are also here to support the citizens, because this flag symbolizes the unity of peoples."

"Albanians deserve EU membership, but they also deserve the rule of law and justice, just like in Europe," he said during his visit to Tirana.
