Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama, present at the event of the Third Edition of Public Administration Week, with a focus on Public Service for a European Albania, also spoke about yesterday morning's protest in front of Parliament.

"There is much to reflect on under that black crust that is the visible part. We are reflecting, we are collecting all the episodes of honest citizens," said Rama.

Regarding the public service, the head of government said: "The fight against corruption is not just a prison issue. The system must protect you. What is happening in Albania today and what is lost in the fog and smoke of things is that the system is fighting corruption for the first time. The system is fighting corruption, not voluntarism.

In fact, this is happening. This democracy and the balance of powers is the only way to guarantee generations. I want to be very clear. I believe that I have the opportunity today, from the height of that experience, to say that at the end of the day, what is important for state-building is the set of steps that are taken patiently and quietly.

"Noisy episodes do not make the system. My belief that Albania can overcome it with unusual speed is related to the fact that Albania today has the fortune to live in the era of technology and artificial intelligence. We are in the embryo and we seek to be today a country that is accepted in the EU because it has an administration with EU standards," the prime minister added.
