SPAK has asked the Assembly of the Republic for authorization to assign another security measure for Sali Berisha.
But what is the procedure followed in such cases by the Assembly?
With the new legal changes, a deputy can be investigated or intercepted by SPAK and then the evidence is sent to the Assembly requesting authorization for his arrest.
Prosecutors of SPAK must convince the deputies of the Commission for Regulation, Immunity and Mandates in the Assembly about the violations committed by Sali Berisha, for which SPAK demands his arrest.
Following SPAK's request, the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, sets a meeting schedule of the Committee on Regulation, Immunity and Mandates.
At the end of the meeting, the commission presents a report summarizing the claims of the parties to the members of the Assembly.
After that, a plenary session is scheduled where the MPs vote on authorizing or not arresting MP Sali Berisha.
Even if the Assembly authorizes the SPAK to arrest him, he does not lose his mandate until he is sentenced by a final decision, unless he surrenders himself.
