Apple is discontinuing the production of iPhone 14 Plus for some very strong

It seems the iPhone 14 Plus isn't off to a great start as early reports suggested, and now according to some sources Apple has stopped production of the iPhone 14 Plus and is reevaluating demand once again.

Citing supply chain sources, the new report suggests that Apple has contacted at least one iPhone assembly partner to immediately stop production of the iPhone 14 Plus and has also contacted two component suppliers to cut production by up to 90%.

The report also mentions that at least one iPhone supplier has been instructed to increase production of components for the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models. There is no official comment from Apple itself regarding these developments, although we can assume that iPhone buyers are not looking for a non-Pro device that costs $899.

At just $100 more for an iPhone 14 Pro and $200 more for the 14 Pro Max, the iPhone 14 Plus is in no man's land. Despite the ongoing obscurity surrounding the iPhone 14 Plus, Information suggests that Apple is still planning to introduce an iPhone 15 Plus next year.

Recently, Apple had reported that it has started manufacturing the iPhone 14 model in India. The company makes most of its phones in China, but has moved some production abroad as tensions rise between Washington and Beijing.

China's 'zero-COVID' policies, which have caused widespread lockdowns, have also caused major disruptions to businesses during the pandemic.
