Turkey has demanded the resignation of the Minister of Immigration, Noti Mitarakis, after the situation with the migrants found at the border.

In an official announcement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry says that Greece is trying to manipulate, using photos of naked immigrants, since according to the Turkish authorities there is no such thing.

"We emphasize that the Greek Minister of Migration and Asylum is still in office and continues the baseless accusations against our country, while the Executive Director of FRONTEX has been relieved of his duties during the investigations and surveillance of the invasions. It is unacceptable and we leave it to the discretion of public opinion", says the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The Greek authorities inform that this reaction of Turkey came only 24 hours after the international protest for the 92 migrants who were found naked and beaten in Evros and who were rescued by the Greek authorities.

For his part, Mitarakis emphasized earlier: "another sad episode has been "written" in Evros, with Turkey in the main role, again using immigrants, this time 92 people, who were found naked and injured in Evros" .
