A homeless woman is the suspected killer of the 12-year-old girl found dead in a suitcase in Paris, a crime that has shocked French society.
Dambia B., a 24-year-old originally from Algeria with "extreme psychological problems" is accused of raping, torturing and murdering Lola Davie last Friday.
At yesterday's media conference, the Prosecutor's Office said that, during the interrogation, the arrested person made various claims, sometimes admitting and sometimes denying the facts of the case.
But she eventually admitted that she took the girl to the apartment of her sister, who lives in the same building as the girl's family, and forced her to take a shower. She then sexually assaulted Lola and committed other violent acts against her, which resulted in her death.
The minor was found tied in a plastic suitcase in the courtyard of a building near her home. Her body was mutilated and the numbers 1 and 0 were found "embedded" in her chest. Shortly before the crime, the security camera had recorded the suspected murderer and the victim entering the building where the 12-year-old lived with her parents, in the northeast of the French capital.
"The suspect boasted that she sold human organs. According to the testimonies, the girl was taken to the basement of the building where she was tortured, raped and strangled before her throat was cut... The suspect is suspected of suffering from serious psychological problems. She lived on the streets but had relatives and friends in Paris," a source with knowledge of the investigation says, according to the Daily Mail.
Six people, including Dhabia's older sister, Frieda B., were arrested in connection with the case. Among those arrested is a 43-year-old man, who is accused of harboring a criminal, after letting the 24-year-old woman stay in his car. Some of those arrested have already been released, as authorities now believe the young Algerian acted alone.
Little Lola's parents realized on Friday afternoon that something was wrong when the girl was late coming home from school. The father, who had access to the building's security cameras, checked the footage and was horrified to discover that the 12-year-old had previously entered the building with an unknown woman. Immediately, the mother of little Lola declared her daughter missing and posted a message on social networks, asking for help and information.
Witnesses in the neighborhood later said they saw the woman dragging the suitcase that was "stained with blood" and "smelled strongly of bleach."
"The alleged killer somehow gained the victim's trust and led her to a basement under a building where the attack took place. The author talked about organ trafficking, but nothing she said made sense. She acted on her own, without coercion, and abused the victim before killing him," said a source with knowledge of the investigation.
