In the middle of the debate about the possibility of using nuclear weapons by Russia, the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, has declared that Pakistan can be "one of the most dangerous countries in the world" because "it has nuclear weapons without cohesion" .

“What I think is probably one of the most dangerous nations in the world: Pakistan. There are nuclear weapons without any cohesion," the US president said last Thursday during a Democratic Campaign Committee event, the transcript of which has now been released by the White House.

Biden made these statements during a speech in which the president referred to the changing geopolitical situation around the world, mainly influenced by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Washington's relations with Pakistan have deteriorated since last year, when the US ended a two-decade war in Afghanistan.

Pakistan provided important logistical access for the Americans, but US officials believe that Islamabad's powerful military and intelligence apparatus also helped the Taliban, who returned to power. as international troops withdrew.

In response to this statement, the Pakistani authorities have decided to summon the American ambassador to Islamabad, Donald Blome. "I discussed it with the prime minister and we called the United States ambassador for an official meeting," Pakistan's foreign minister, Bilaëal Bhutto Zardari, confirmed at a press conference.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, rejected "the comments made by the President of the United States, which are factually incorrect and misleading".

"Over the past decades, Pakistan has proven to be a very responsible nuclear state, in which its nuclear program is managed through a technically sound and foolproof command and control system," the Prime Minister of Pakistan emphasized.

Further, Sharif continued the reaction on his official profile on the Twitter social network: "Let me reiterate unequivocally: Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and we are proud that our nuclear assets have the best guarantees according to international requirements. We take these security measures very seriously. Let no one have doubts".
