The cleaning company "ECO Tirana", owned 51% by the Municipality of Tirana and 49% by the Italian company "AGSM AIM", has announced the cancellation of a tender.
According to documents available to VoxNews, the firm has canceled the procedure for purchasing a garbage truck.
For some time now, the semi-state company has taken over the cleaning of Tirana, replacing some of the private cleaning companies. And, since then, “ECO Tirana” has been tendering for the purchase of bins and cleaning equipment, as well as a host of other equipment and services.

A few months ago, “ECO Tirana” opened a tender with the object of the contract “purchase of a waste compactor truck”. The tender limit fund was 61,331,250 million lek, or 625 thousand euros.
" The reasons for the cancellation are that no suitable bid was submitted in the single-stage procedures ," the document states. However, it also provides additional information, stating that the firm that was declared the winner withdrew from signing the contract due to failure to meet the deadline for delivery of the goods, as stipulated.

" These conditions do not depend on him but on the problems in the water transport routes in the Middle East from attacks (fighting) by terrorist groups (Great Powers), which have led to the diversion of sea routes, resulting in delays and risks in the timely arrival of orders from the manufacturer (China) ," says ECO Tirana.
He further adds that the tender is canceled because the second-ranked firm in this procurement procedure cannot be declared the winner.
