US President Donald Trump has fired White House spokeswoman Katie Zacharias, just five days after her first appearance in the press conference room.

With this decision, she leaves the post after a short period, breaking the record of Anthony Scaramucci, who only stayed in office for 10 days during Trump's first term.

Shortly before American media reported her dismissal, Trump had stated that Zacharia should reconsider her position in this position.

"If I were her, I would think twice," was the American president's message, implying that her departure was imminent.

The news of the vacancy has immediately sparked reactions and speculation about who could succeed him. Among those who have expressed interest is Laura Loomer, the well-known MAGA influencer, who has not missed the opportunity to propose herself as Zacharias' successor.

However, she is not the only possible candidate for the post. According to reports, several names could be under consideration, while Trump does not seem to be rushing to make a final decision.

Zacharias' departure comes after widespread criticism of her first press conference, which lasted less than 15 minutes and included only three questions from reporters.
