Humanity has, over time, very clearly structured its philosophy on the need and role of the state and the politics of state-building.

What has left much to be desired in this history is the politics of the day in the exercise of duties by state structures and the objective by which they are guided: in function of the development of the country or the protection of the ruling political, economic and military cliques (we are no longer using the inflated and often misquoted term: elite).

In the political philosophy of Thomas Hobbes (Thomas Hobbes, "Leviathan"), the state is treated as the power to which society has entrusted the authority to guarantee security, peace, and coexistence.

Since the state receives this authority, in return it also has a fundamental obligation: to protect citizens, their lives, and the fruits of their labor.

This responsibility must be exercised daily against minor or major wrongdoings by the part of society that is legally classified as "lawbreakers."

But this responsibility is truly put to the test precisely in moments when public calm is shaken, when political discontent spills out into the streets, and when protests risk turning into or leading to clashes.

These are situations when the relevant state structures, the forces maintaining order, preferably those in uniform, should become living proof of the state's ability to maintain the balance between freedom and order, between the right to protest and be angry and the obligation not to violate the rights and property of others.

A strong state is not evidenced by the severity of its reaction, an angry, stubborn, or confused reaction.

The state is evidenced by the ability to act with professionalism, composure, prudence and impartiality; to prevent violence and not to exercise excessive and unnecessary violence, to protect property, especially the private property of businesses and citizens.

The latter are only contributors to the development of the country and society.

These days, there have been cases of damage to private property and businesses, which has consequently begun to cause a reduction in the hours of activity.

A burned facade, a broken storefront, or a business forced to close its doors may seem like minor damage at the moment. But the consequences are broader and longer-term.

Because behind every closed door lies a work story; behind every store, an investment; behind every venture, months and years of effort, savings, and sacrifices.

There may be the future of a family, the salary of several employees and the income of their families, the labor of an entrepreneur who has chosen to build something with his own hands, instead of expecting something from others, and has chosen to stay in Albania.

Dëmi rrallëherë mbaron te xhami i thyer apo te pajisjet e shkatërruara.

Unfortunately, Albania has experienced several short-term or even prolonged slides into anarchy and violence. We all know the economic consequences of such situations.

Therefore, logical management is required with the objective of preserving the country and the economy.

This is achieved both with the appropriate solution to protect order while respecting the rights of protest, as well as with the appropriate political solution for the future of the country, which goes beyond the individual fate of one or a few rulers and politicians.

Citizens and businesses must regain confidence that their work has value and is protected.

This is, after all, the most humane understanding of public order: not simply maintaining peace in the streets, but creating conditions for people to live, work, and build their future without fear that a conflict might destroy what they have built with years of work.

Today is the day that the country's and political leaders are called to behave like statesmen, not like rulers./ monitor
