At the height of the debates over the election of the director of Albanian Radio Television, where the entire chain of the Board of Directors has recently been dismissed, the acting director of this television station is continuing with her next "affairs".

VoxNews has learned that Aurora Polo has quickly prepared a super tender, while mobilizing all subordinates to quickly prepare all procedures.

All actions are being done under the rug, where an attempt is being made to procure a large amount of value, just to "please" her clients or favorite firms.

But what makes this procedure even more suspicious is that everything is being done without the Board of Directors, on the personal initiative of the director, on the verge of leaving. The procedures for the election of the new director seem to be prolonged, because in recent days all the members of the board were dismissed. The Assembly must elect the new members, take up their positions and then elect Alfred Peza's successor.

And, "swimming" in these waters, Polo acted with cunning and speed!

According to documents available to VoxNews, the General Directorate of RTSH, headed by Aurora Polo, has opened a long-term tender for maintenance. It is learned that the object of the procurement procedure is "maintenance service for the DVB-T2 distribution network for 48 (forty-eight) months."

So, on the eve of leaving, Polo makes a tender with a 4-year term! Even with a very high value. More precisely, the documents state that the limit fund of the entire procedure is 907,816,536 lekë, or if we convert it into euros, over 9 million euros.

VoxNews reviewed RTSH documents from previous years, which show that maintenance costs for this network are foreseen based on the SLA contract for the maintenance of the digitalization network.

"The estimated value includes the service for the period January-December 2024. This payment is based on the contract for the maintenance service of the DVBT2 distribution network, concluded between the General Directorate of RTSH and the company 'Rohde & Schwarz, for a period of 4 years from March 1, 2021, in the amount of 8,795,962 euros, with an annual value of 2.1 million euros, monthly in the amount of 183,250 euros."

The clans of the RTSH management seem to serve the budget more than the content. None of the recent directors have cared about the television program, their content, but about how to spend that money.

According to documents, the annual budget of Albanian Radio Television is a whopping 28 million euros. A frightening figure for a television station, but the inflated costs of tenders, hiring people, and other expenses have brought this budget to its knees.

It is learned that the funding from the state budget for 2024 was 690 million lek or 7 million euros. 17 million euros were collected from the tax that each family pays on the electricity bill. Meanwhile, this television produced only 331 million lek, or 3.3 million euros.

One of the most important items in the RTSH budget is employee salaries. According to the balance sheet researched by VoxNews, the realization in 2023 was 11 million euros. Meanwhile, in 2024, 11.5 million euros were forecast.

According to the list, a total of 976 employees work at RTSH, where they are divided. The Technical Unit has the most employees with 258, the General Directorate with 210, and the Production Unit has only 151. Next comes the News and Thematic Broadcasting Unit with 11 employees, the Programs Unit with 47, 65 are in the orchestra, 32 employees are in the archive, and so on. In Shkodra there are 31 employees, in Korça 30, in Gjirokastër 28, and in Kukës 23.
