The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has asked the Spanish embassy to intervene with the authorities to get the answer to the letter requesting the heart of young Saimir Sula, who died in a hospital in Madrid.
The sister of the deceased, Majlinda Sula, has demanded justice for her brother, who passed away in Spain two years ago, where he had gone for COVID and came out dead, while he arrived in Albania without a heart.
In the letter of the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana addressed to the Embassy, which Europa Press has had access to, it is emphasized that Albania is investigating the case as a suspected case of organ trafficking after verifying the absence of a heart in the body of Saimir Sula, after which they sent four letters and sent two letters: "Despite all our insistence, we have not received any response", says the Prosecutor's Office.
The Albanian Ministry of Justice has made a request that it qualifies as "essential and legitimate" to do a DNA test on the heart of the deceased, to confirm whether it is the organ of the Albanian citizen, or a genetic test. Sula went to the hospital on May 8, 2020 with a fever and suspicions that he might have Covid, but it turned out negative, while after 18 hours his sister was informed that he had passed away.
