A serious domestic crime has been prevented by the Tirana Police.

A 65-year-old man has been arrested, allegedly planning to kill his wife, whom he repeatedly raped and threatened.

During the arrest of the 65-year-old man with the initials Sh. V., police seized a Kalashnikov, four combs and a knife.

Thanks to the timely intervention and professional actions of the services of Police Commissariat No. 1, a criminal incident in a family is prevented.

A 65-year-old man was caught and arrested in the act for assaulting his wife and threatening to kill her.

The services of the Police Commissariat No. 1, after receiving a report that on "Tomi Kristo" Street, a citizen was exercising violence against his wife and threatening to kill her, immediately organized the work to prevent a possible criminal event, complete legal documentation of the case and bring the suspected perpetrator to criminal responsibility.

As a result of quick actions, the neutralization of citizen Sh. V., 65 years old, who was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses "Domestic violence" and "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", provided for by articles 130/a and 278 of the Criminal Code.

This citizen, today, on "Tomi Kristo" street, has exercised violence against his wife and threatened her.

During the search of the 65-year-old's apartment, police found and seized a knife, a Kalashnikov firearm, 4 combs and combat ammunition.

The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana, for further action.
