The appeal of GJKKO has decided to leave in force the security measure of arrest in prison for Evis Berberi, the former head of ARRSH and the two businessmen, Valter Begaj, and Ervis Lami, thus not accepting the appeal for relief of the measure.
The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, SPAK announced on March 29 the seizure of the assets of Evis Berberi, arrested for corruption and money laundering, together with two other people with whom he had relations in a company owned by him .
According to SPAK, Berberi, in his capacity as the head of two state institutions, requested and received significant sums of money from a company that won tenders in these public entities.
In order to enable the taking of the bribe, he used an indirect way, where the winning company of the tenders of the institutions he led, transferred the money to another company controlled by him.
Together with Berberi, Valter Begaj, the owner of the company that benefited from the tenders and at the same time a partner of the company indirectly owned by Berberi, as well as Ervis Lame, the administrator of Berberi's company and an employee of Begaj's company, were put in handcuffs two weeks ago. .
