Rexhina Çelhaka is one of the convicts who benefited from the amnesty and left the cell yesterday.

The young woman was met by her father outside the women's prison after nearly two and a half years, who threw herself into his arms and burst into tears.

"Oh my soul, oh life, it's over", his father can be heard telling him.

Çelhaka was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of causing the accident in Qafë Muzina near Gjirokastra in August 2021, where as a result of the collision of her vehicle with a van, 5 people lost their lives.

How did the event happen?

The driver of the Land Rover, Rexhina Çelhaka , 22 years old at the time, did not think that the speed with which she was moving would cause the death of five people in Qafë Muzina.

The event happened in August 2021, while the young woman was traveling on the Gjirokastër-Saranda national road.

Çelhaka was traveling at a speed exceeding the speed limit and collided with a van type vehicle on the Tirana-Saranda line, while the van left the road and ended up on the slope.

As a result, the driver of the Tirana-Saranda line, identified as 51-year-old Bardhi Proda, and 4 passengers died, while a young girl, Greta Kaberdini, miraculously survived.

The girls who were traveling in the Land Rover also escaped without serious injuries.
