Within 10-12 weeks, the first flight of illegal immigrants to Rwanda will depart from Great Britain, after the immigration package that envisages sending asylum seekers to the African country was approved on Monday evening in Parliament.

The Albanian lawyer in London, Sajmir Kumria, explained all the categories of asylum seekers who are at risk of leaving for Rwanda, where the Albanians who arrived in the last two years are not excluded.

"Persons who are at risk from this law will absolutely not have their asylum request accepted and will be directly subject to deportation to Rwanda. But they are also potentially at risk, all those citizens who have illegally entered the United Kingdom from 1 January 2022 and who have sought asylum, asylum which may result in the following receiving a final rejection in United Kingdom. "All persons of any nationality entering the United Kingdom from today onwards will no longer have the opportunity to seek asylum or protection based on the asylum legislation," the lawyer told A2CNN.

While the law awaits approval from King Charles III to come into force, technical procedures for the removal of asylum seekers to Rwanda will be announced by the Home Office.

Kumria clarified that the new law envisages sending asylum seekers to Rwanda not to wait for the final decision, but to never return to Great Britain.

"What we need to emphasize is that all citizens seeking asylum to protect themselves from the problems they face in their lives, if they go to Rwanda no longer have the right to return to the UK even if their asylum is approved. Anyone who goes to Rwanda will follow the asylum procedure there and if they win asylum they will live and integrate into Rwandan society according to the legislation there."
