The first outbreak of plague of small ruminants has been confirmed in the Korça region , specifically in the village of Shuec in the municipality of Devoll .

According to authorities, the case was identified on a farm in the area, where symptoms of the disease were reported in some of the animals.

Representatives of the veterinary service are currently at the scene, carrying out all relevant isolation, disinfection and sampling procedures .

Peste des petits ruminants is a highly contagious disease, affecting mainly sheep and goats, causing huge economic losses for farmers.
