The two children who fell into the Arachthos River in Arta on Wednesday have lost all hope of survival.

Doctors have concluded that both have developed clinical brain death syndrome.

The only thing keeping the two minors alive are the machines.

Under these conditions, the parents of the 13 and 14-year-olds have decided to donate their children's organs.

The two children were pulled from the Arachthos River in Arta unconscious, but after systematic cardiopulmonary resuscitation, doctors succeeded and brought them back to life.

They were transferred to a hospital in Patras, however, the tests they underwent at a later time concluded that there was no hope for them.

Due to a lack of oxygen to the brain, the two young children suffered extensive damage to multiple organs, and doctors only managed to stabilize their lungs.

Meanwhile, at the place where the students drowned, their friends left flowers and a letter, which read: We will remember you forever, you left as heroes. Your company!

According to ERT, the two minors appeared to have been without oxygen for more than an hour.

The children had been at the bottom of the Arachthos River for at least 20 minutes, until 41-year-old Albanian Ledian Goga dove into the river and pulled them both out.
