Lawyer Ledio Braho spoke briefly in a statement to the media following the Fier court's decision to release Ervin Salianj on bail.
The former MP's lawyer stated that there was finally an element of justice for Salianji, adding that his sentence was political. According to the procedures, he said he will be released within the day.
"Finally, there was a minimal element of justice for him. The whole process, in my opinion, is completely unfair, it was a political punishment, but today we managed to shorten less than two and a half months of the remaining sentence. The procedures are that he should be released within today. Salianji explained that his fight was for the public interest," said Braho.
A 44-year-old Albanian man who stabbed his wife to death out of jealousy in Athens is sentenced to life imprisonment.
