Under strict security measures, former Democratic Party MP Ervin Salianji has arrived at the Fier Court, where a hearing will be held to review his request for conditional release.

The Probation Service is expected to submit its report, based on which the court will decide to accept or reject the request.

In the previous session, the behavioral assessment report from the Institution for the Execution of Criminal Decisions (IEVP) in Fier was presented, which, according to Salianj's lawyer, Ledio Braho, resulted positive.

Salianji has been in Fier prison since October 2023, after being sentenced to 1 year in prison by a final decision for false reporting in connection with the "Babale" case.

On the other hand, he and the opposition have described the process against him as politically rigged and have called the decision unfair.
