The First Instance Court of the Fier Judicial District has released former DP MP Ervin Salianji from prison. The hearing began at 11:00 today.
The panel composed of Judge Noel Veizi and Prosecutor Genci Mane reviewed the Probation Service report.
Sources from inside the hearing indicate that the probation service report has resulted positive, while the prosecutor has agreed to his release.
Salianji has been serving his sentence since October 2024, following the decision of the Court of Appeals that upheld the 1-year prison sentence for false reporting.
He has served two-thirds of his sentence and is seeking parole, claiming he is the victim of a politically motivated trial.
Today's hearing is considered particularly important, as it is expected to determine whether the former MP will be released or will continue to remain in prison.
