Joy Aoko is dead. The 22-year-old from Kenya grabbed the headlines in her country's media after the news spread that she had been badly attacked in Albania where she had gone for a better life.

She was brought home to her homeland by the Kenyan government for medical attention, however, the story had a sad ending as she did not survive her injuries.

The newspaper Tuco.co.ke has paid attention to the case of Joy Aoko: " Like many people who leave Kenya to work abroad, Joy Aoko left for Albania with the hope of making a better life for herself and her family. It was a dream that would turn into a nightmare as she found herself in a coma following a vicious attack ."
