The special investigative group, within a few hours of intensive professional investigative work, clarified the event that happened yesterday morning, in Saranda.

The suspected author of the explosion and destruction with explosives of the hotel that his father co-owned with another citizen was identified, caught and arrested.

The parties were in litigation for several years, for the division of ownership of this hotel.

Clothes suspected to have been used by the perpetrator during the placement of the explosives, 3 mobile phones and other items found at the scene are seized.

After the incident that happened yesterday morning, in Sarandë, a special investigation group was set up, consisting of the best specialists and experts of the Criminal Police Department in the State Police, DVP Vlorë and Sarandë Police Station, and under the direction of The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of the Judicial District of Saranda continued the actions to clarify the incident.

Thanks to the quick and professional investigations, carried out by the special investigative group, for about 12 hours, it became possible to clarify the event, identify and arrest the suspected perpetrator, the citizen:

-S. Ç., 36 years old, resident of Saranda, for the criminal offense of "Destruction of property with explosives", with serious material consequences.

This citizen, yesterday morning, in neighborhood no. 1, Sarandë, is suspected of having planted a quantity of explosives in the hotel that his father, citizen S. Ç., 63 years old, co-owned with citizen E. Dh., due to a court case that the 63-year-old had and the citizen E. Dh., a process started in 2002, and at the end of which, most of this hotel would be owned by the citizen E. Dh.

As a result of the explosive explosion, the hotel built in 1996 was completely destroyed and the facades of other buildings near the hotel were also damaged. No citizen was injured in the explosion.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Saranda Judicial District Court, for further action.
