Elbasan Court leaves in prison the deputy commissioner arrested for usury!

Elbasan Police Deputy Commissioner, Edison Pema, has been remanded in custody.

The State Police officer appeared before the Elbasan Court today to be informed of his security measure.

In today's session, the trial panel decided that Pema should remain in custody until the investigation is completed.

Pema was arrested 2 days ago by the Police Supervision Agency (Elbasan-Korça Region) on suspicion of lending money at interest and making threats of violence.

For this reason, several criminal offenses are being investigated: "Coercion by threat or violence to give up property", within the framework of a usury scheme.

Specifically, Pema had lent 7 thousand euros to a person and received 2 thousand euros in interest every week.

In total, the debt had reached over 100 thousand euros in interest.

In addition to the illegal monthly interest, Pema had mortgaged 5 vehicles owned by the victim, exerting constant threats and pressure on her to ensure the return of the amount with high profits.
