Ilir Vrenozi kisses Salianji on the cheek

Dozens of Democratic sympathizers welcomed Ervin Salianji outside the iron gate of the Fier prison, whose threshold the former MP crossed after more than 9 months in prison.

Salianj's steps towards freedom were accompanied by applause from the democrats, while the most enthusiastic was Ilir Vrenozi, who kissed Salianj on the cheek as the latter gave a statement to the media. "The tiger came out," he said.

Meanwhile, after meeting with supporters, the democrat headed towards a village in Fier, where, as he said, he voted in the majority for the Democratic Party in the May 11 elections.

"From now on, I will go to thank an electoral zone in a village in Fier, where the DP won. To those who, with resistance, manliness, and loyalty, manage to win. I will start the meetings from this moment ," said Salianji.

The democrat who was released today on bail by the Fier Court, stated that he will not stop political meetings, while he is banned from exercising public functions for five years.

"I will do politics in every corner I get the chance to and I will take the battle to Strasbourg. We will have time to stay longer, " he said.

Asked about the nine months spent in prison, Salianji said:

"In prison, you know they say, prison is not even good for the enemy. Today, I have a different program, I feel the injustice more under my skin."
