GJKKO sentences former socialist MP Alqi Bllako to 4 years in prison

The Special Court has sentenced former socialist MP Alqi Bllako to 4 years in prison, after benefiting from a shortened trial.

After almost six hours of delay in reaching a decision, also due to court hearings, the GJKKO announced the decision for Alqi Bllako, regarding the Tirana incinerator.

The panel, headed by Rudina Palloj, found him guilty of passive corruption, for a benefit of 119 thousand euros, and another benefit of 7 million lek. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison, while in a summary trial the sentence was reduced to 2 years and 8 months in prison.

Bllako has also been stripped of the right to hold public office for 5 years.
