Two people have been arrested in flagrante delicto by police in Durrës, after they were driving an armored and armed vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, Elidon Daçi, 28, and Ernest Beqiri, 29, who was a passenger in the vehicle, were arrested.

They are accused of illegal possession of weapons and failure to report a crime.

During the search of the vehicle, a pistol firearm, with a magazine full of cartridges, a suspected forged Russian license plate, and a sum of money were found and seized.

Police announcement:

Durrës/ The police operation codenamed "Blindi" is finalized.

They were driving around in an armored and armed vehicle, and 2 citizens were caught red-handed and put in handcuffs.

A pistol with a magazine loaded with cartridges, an armored vehicle, a forged Russian license plate, a sum of money, and 3 cell phones were seized.

As a result of the rapid administration of information obtained in the operational route, regarding 2 citizens who were circulating with firearms in a vehicle, the services of the Durrës Police Commissariat have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Blindi".

During the operation, the Police services stopped the armored vehicle with the driver, citizen ED, and the passenger, citizen EB. During the search, 1 firearm, a pistol, with a magazine full of cartridges, a suspected forged Russian license plate, and a sum of money were found in the vehicle.

At the end of the actions, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
-ED, 28 years old, resident of Durrës, for the criminal offense of "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition";
-EB, 29 years old, resident of Durrës, for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime".

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
